We travel and search around the world to partner with the very best. Here are a few of them...

Douglas Laing & Co have been in the business for over 60 years. Known in the beginning for being master blenders - the founder decided in 1998 that "some of these malts were too good to blend" and thus began their single malt selections such as the Old Malt Cask line and the very exclusive Old and Rare "Platinum" line - this is the best of the best or "ne plus ultra". Always rare and limited - never cheap. |

A family company specialising in acquiring and bottling the rarest, finest privately-distilled Cognacs directly from the producers themselves. |

Kilchoman, (pronounced kilhoman) is the first new distillery built on Islay in 124 years. It was established in 2005 and is a farm distillery growing their own Barley (quite rare nowadays). Kilchoman gives everyone the opportunity to see all that is best in the grass roots traditions of malt whisky distilling - from barley to bottle. Pure Islay and is potentially a legend in the making. Though still very young it is already starting to gather a cult following - including us! |

Samaroli Whisky & Rum. Established in 1968. Samaroli is one of the legendary independent bottlers whose older bottlings have now become some of the most highly rated and sought after whiskeys of all time. Samaroli is also recently known for their vatted malts - "No Age" is a must try! |

Laberdolive is one of if not the most famous Armagnac house. This is still a family owned business (5th generation) and everything down to the oak forest where barrels come from are still controlled by the Laberdolive family. |

Another Italian bottler of high repute – this is the successor to the now extinct and legendary bottler Sestante. This is highly sought after by collectors and whiskey fanatics alike. Not only are quantities extremely limited, the stuff in the bottle is distressingly good as well.
This is the stuff of legends but don’t take our word for it; try it for yourselves. |

It should not be a surprise that some whiskeys produced 20,30,50 years ago are just better than their modern day counterparts. The reason is simple - mass production. This crept into the business starting in the 70's and became pervasive in the 80's and afterwards. Unlike wine where the average standard and quality has been increasing over the last 20-30 years, the opposite is happening to whisky and the average standard goes down as millions of bottles of generic, mass produced whiskeys flood the market. Die hard enthusiast, collectors and the older generation will know this by experience. Those who don't have to try this to believe it - the proof is in the bottle. |
