Highlands has the greatest diversity of style, and is the largest whisky producing region in Scotland.
Highland malts are difficult to characterize, since it covers such a wide area from Wick in the North East of Scotland to Glengoyne, just outside Glasgow. Highland malts range from medium to light bodied with heather and peatiness in the Northern Highland, and a sweeter floral flavour in the South.
